If monetization is added
Before any paid link or inquiry route goes live, we will record the company, the type of relationship, what triggers payment, any effect on the price you pay, the start date, the tracking method and the current status. A plain-language disclosure will then appear next to the recommendation or link.
The disclosure will describe the event that is actually paid for. For a sale-based arrangement, that might read: "We may earn a commission if you buy through this link." For a paid-lead arrangement, it will explain when the supplier accepts a qualifying inquiry and whether the fee affects your price. A click or a question won't be described as a paid event unless the agreement makes it one. A bare "affiliate link" label doesn't explain enough.
Independence rules
- Compensation cannot buy a ranking position or favorable conclusion.
- Sponsored content and paid placement require prominent labels.
- Gifts, discounted services, equipment loans and free access require page-level disclosure.
- Evidence standards and treatment of missing data apply to every supplier.
- No commercial arrangement can suppress a verified limitation or correction.
- The disclosure must be updated when a relationship begins, changes or ends.
